Edmonton Oilers Make Moves at Trade Deadline
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, and the Edmonton Oilers were among the teams that made some moves to improve their roster. General manager Ken Holland acquired forwards Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
Oilers Expected to be Buyers
The Oilers were expected to be buyers at the trade deadline, as they are currently in a playoff spot and have a chance to make a deep run. Holland has been active in making moves all season, and he was able to add some much-needed depth to his team with the acquisition of Henrique and Carrick.
Henrique and Carrick Add Depth
Henrique is a veteran centerman who has played over 800 NHL games. He is a reliable two-way player who can contribute offensively and defensively. Carrick is a physical winger who can also play center. He is a good skater and has a good shot. Both players are expected to be able to contribute immediately for the Oilers.
